Effect of the line scanning driving of active‐matrix display on the measurement of display temporal characteristics

Abstract Temporal characteristics are crucial factors influencing display performance. For an active‐matrix display, signals applied sequentially line‐by‐line, and the temporal response of each horizontal line changes depending on different timings. When recording a probe measuring device must have finite size shutter time. As finite‐size records responses multiple lines with timings, number covered by affects obtained result. And effects due to timing difference sequential driving can be misinterpreted as display. In this study, contribution various factors, such camera time, device, transition frame rate was evaluated separate from effect caused these factors. A procedure estimate only without is devised. The effectiveness proposed verified based spatial record high‐speed video rates 9000 12,000 per second.
